Photographer Ryuichi Ishikawa and Motoyuki Daifu join editor-in-chief Takuhito Kawashima and Art Director Kei Sakawaki for a talk show at GINZA TSUTAYA BOOKS on Friday 9th August.

For the first part of the talk, we will discuss Ishikawa and Daifu’s works and the shared theme of “anonymity.”
Ryuichi Ishikawa takes portraitures of people in the community where he lives. For PARTNERS #2, he presented a story of a couple whom he bumped into a few years ago at a street of Okinawa, Japan. On the other hand, Daifu captures his family and their everyday life with a witty perspective and for the current issue, he delivered a story of his younger brother who uses his customized car for racing. Both photographers’ subject deal with the notion of anonymity in our close surroundings, although their style and approach to photography are different. This talk will give us an insight into their creative process and the relationship with their subjects.

Ryuichi Ishikawa: Born in 1984. He is a prize winner of Kimura Ihei Award in 2015.

Motoyuki Daifu: Born in 1985. In 2014, he was nomitated for Prix Picte.

For the second part of the talk, we will go through the submissions on the theme of “anonymity” Family stories, love stories, friendships… We want to hear from you! Please share with us any photography work, film, text that is related to the theme. Your submission can also be a subject idea to be covered by our editorial team.
